| You've reached the stage in your life where you find yourself enjoying a good and loving relationship, you've been going out for quite a while, perhaps living together, you know for sure he or she is the partner you want to share the rest of your life with, and now you have to decide how to propose marriage. So here are some tips and guidelines that will help/assist/guide you with planning this sweet and exciting task. |
| 1. When you start planning how to propose marriage you should first take into account the person you are going to propose to and what their main character traits are. Do they have a good sense of humor and enjoy a good joke or laugh? Perhaps the marriage proposal should be funny. For example you could dress up as a clown on Halloween and propose marriage. The image of a clown on bended knee and holding out a diamond ring will not be easily forgotten! 2. Location: now you are fully aware of the dear person you are about to propose to, you can move on to the second stage of planning how to propose marriage: choose the location. Let's take the clown from the previous paragraph as an example once again: he, or she, can kneel down on one knee and propose marriage at home or in the middle of a crowded and funky party. Although both situations are romantic and exciting you must agree they are slightly different. And an example for the romantic couple: the romantic dinner can take place at home, in a romantic restaurant or on an exotic island on the other side of the world. Once again all the marriage proposals are romantic and beautiful, but each is different. Choose the location which is best for you. 3. Planning: a good plan is the basis for a successful marriage proposal. Make a list of all the things necessary – diamond ring, restaurant reservation, a special gift or love letter. Write down all the things you would like to have in the marriage proposal and prepare them in advance. If you need friends or relatives to take part in the plan –don’t hesitate to let them know well in advance, and rehearse their part. Most important of all, your love should know ahead of time that you have plans, whether it is going out to dinner or flying to Paris! 4. Budget: make sure your idea of how to propose marriage meets your budget. Better to make it simple and romantic than to find yourself with out of pocket because of an extravagant and expensive marriage proposal. |
